Lucy Talley Named Group Publisher of Hearst Community Newspapers

Hearst Corporation today announced the appointment of Lucy Talley
to group publisher, community newspapers at Hearst Newspapers. The
announcement was made by Frank A. Bennack, Jr., CEO of Hearst
Corporation, and Mark Aldam, president of Hearst Newspapers. Talley
begins in her new role on April 16, 2012.
Talley was previously publisher of The Florida Times-Union and
Jacksonville.com.
In a joint statement, Bennack and Aldam said: "We are delighted
to have Lucy joining Hearst. She's been an advertising sales leader
for 20 years and has excellent hands-on experience in both print
and digital."
Hearst's community newspapers comprise seven newspapers:
Beaumont (Texas) Enterprise, Edwardsville (Ill.) Intelligencer,
Huron (Mich.) Daily Tribune, Laredo (Texas) Morning Times, Midland
(Mich.) Daily News, Midland (Texas) Reporter-Telegram and Plainview
(Texas) Daily Herald.
Talley joined The Florida Times-Union in November 2008 as
associate publisher and was promoted to publisher in March 2009.
Prior to joining The Florida Times-Union, she was the vice
president of newspapers for Morris Publishing Group, owner of The
Florida Times-Union. In 1995 Talley joined The Post and Courier in
Charleston, S.C. and in 2004 she was named publisher of the
Salisbury (N.C.) Post. She started her career in 1979 at The Ledger
in Lakeland, Fla. Talley studied at Marshall University and The
College of Charleston. She serves as a trustee board member for
United Way of Northeast Florida, is a Board of Governors member for
Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce and a trustee for the
Museum of Contemporary Arts.
