Russian oil firm OAO Surgutneftegaz (SNGS.RS), which purchased a stake in Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU) earlier this week, has had no talks with neither MOL nor the Hungarian government prior to or after the acquisition, the company said Wednesday.

"So far there's only been talks with the seller's side," a Surgutneftegaz spokeswoman said.

Russia's fourth-largest oil producer said Monday it had acquired a 21.2% stake in MOL for EUR1.4 billion.

MOL's Chairman and Chief Executive Zsolt Hernadi responded Wednesday by saying he considers the purchase unfriendly.
