JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American
Commercial Lines Inc. ("Company" or "ACL") announced today the
pricing of its initial public offering of its shares of common
stock at a price of $21.00 per share. Of the shares sold in the
offering, 7,500,000 shares were offered by ACL and 750,000 shares
were offered by a selling stockholder. In addition, the
underwriters have been granted an option to purchase up to an
additional 1,237,500 shares from the selling stockholder within the
next 30 days at the public offering price. ACL will not receive any
proceeds from the sale of shares by the selling stockholder. ACL
shares are expected to begin trading on the NASDAQ National Market
on October 7, 2005 under the trading symbol "ACLI". Merrill Lynch
& Co. and UBS Investment Bank acted as joint bookrunners for
this offering. Credit Suisse First Boston and Deutsche Bank
