    Result of Annual General Meeting


    The directors of the Company wish to announce that each of the resolutions
    proposed at the annual general meeting of the company held on Friday 23rd May
    2008 were passed.  The full text of each resolution was included in
    the notice of the Annual General Meeting of Irish Life & Permanent plc circulated to
    shareholders on 17th April, 2008.

    A summary of proxy forms lodged for this meeting will shortly be available on the Company's website
