The Company today received notice from Rutland Partners that the High Court has 
made an award of damages against the co-defendants in Vercoe v Rutland Fund 
Management Limited. 
 
 
 
Despite this unexpected development, both the Board and the Manager remain 
confident in the prospects for the portfolio and the Company's ability to 
finance its commitments. 
 
The claim related to the investment made by Rutland Fund I in H&T, a 
pawn-broking business. The co-defendants included the Rutland Partnership, 
through which the Company's investment in Rutland Fund I is held. The damages 
to be awarded to the plaintiffs are to be decided at a further hearing, which 
is to be held shortly. The extent of any liability of the Company in relation 
to any damages that are awarded will be the subject of further consideration 
and an announcement will be made as appropriate in due course.
