NSF INTERNATIONAL CERTIFIES HALOPURE(R) FOR MATERIAL SAFETY UNDER STANDARD 42

Seattle, U.S.A. - HaloSource, Inc. ("HaloSource" or "the Company") (HAL.LN, HALO.LN) the clean water and antimicrobial technology company, today announces that its HaloPure(R) drinking water purification technology has been officially certified by NSF International for material safety.

NSF International is the world leader in standards development, product certification, education, and risk-management for public health and safety. After completing rigorous scientific analysis of HaloPure and resulting product water, the organization has granted a listing of HaloPure for component material safety under its NSF/ANSI Standard 42 assessment protocol.

This listing provides a pathway for the seamless integration of HaloPure technology into products without compromising prior NSF device certifications. The listing also paves the way for HaloPure powered finished devices to move through the NSF device certification process.

John Kaestle, Chief Executive of HaloSource, commented: "We are very pleased to gain NSF certification of HaloPure as it provides further assurance of HaloPure's safety and efficacy in point-of-use consumer products. The trusted NSF mark signals safety and performance in the minds of millions of consumers the world over, an important factor as we continue to expand our partner base globally. In addition, we continue to secure regulatory approvals in our target markets to drive global adoption of our HaloPure drinking water purification technology and HaloPure powered products".

In May 2011, HaloSource received formal approval from the Chinese Ministry of Health for its HaloPure drinking water purification technology for use in China and recently completed ISO9001:2008 accreditation of its Shanghai facility by NSF International. In 2009, HaloPure became the first new drinking water technology in 30 years to be granted both Manufacture-For-Use and Device registrations by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), widely recognized as having the world's most stringent performance requirements for water purification.

About HaloSource's Markets

HaloPure products are principally targeted at consumers in emerging market countries, where access to safe drinking water is particularly poor. In an independent analysis of the global Point of Use drinking water device market carried out in 2005, Frost and Sullivan concluded that:

-- the market for residential water treatment equipment in China was estimated at $960 million in 2005, growing at an annual rate of 20.4 per cent between 2004 and 2011;

-- the market for residential drinking water devices in India was estimated at $425 million in 2009, and experiencing growth of approximately 25 per cent annually; and

-- in 2005 the global markets for filtration formats in the form of under-the-sink, counter top and replacement cartridges were growing annually at 20 per cent, 21 per cent and 18 per cent, respectively.

The World Health Organisation has estimated that 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water and the Centre for Disease Control is recommending Point Of Use filtration and disinfection.
