                     Statement Regarding Press Speculation

The Board of Commoditrade (the "Board") notes the recent press speculation. The
Board can confirm that it is in preliminary discussions with a number of parties
regarding a possible offer for the Company. There can be no certainty that these
discussions will lead to a formal offer being made for the issued share capital
of the Company.

A further announcement will be made as appropriate.

In the event that an offer is made for the Company it will not be subject to the
City Code on Takeovers and Mergers.
