After Wednesday's Bell Market Commentary

On Wednesday, upbeat corporate earnings sent the markets soaring to a sharply higher close. A decline in the dollar helped fuel the rebound. The dollar fell 1.2 percent against a broad basket of currencies. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell to 2.48 percent from 2.46 percent. Spot gold rose 0.7 percent to $1,345.90 an ounce by 3:10 p.m. EDT. U.S. gold futures for December delivery settled up $8.20 an ounce to $1,344.20. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 129.35, or 1.2 percent, to 11,107.97. The Nasdaq composite index was up 20.44, or 0.8 percent, to 2,457.39. The Standard and Poor's 500 index was up 12.27, or 1.1 percent, to 1,178.17. The Russell 2000 gained 7 points to 702.
