1406 GMT - Deutsche Post is among the most mentioned companies across news items over the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data, as around 14,000 employees on Tuesday responded to a strike call from German union Verdi a day before the beginning of a new round of wage negotiations. This equals to more than a third of the German logistics group's workforce at the affected locations, the company said. Around 20% of the average daily parcel volume and around 11% of average daily letter volume is affected, Deutsche Post said. Verdi on Sunday called for nationwide strikes on Monday and Tuesday to demand wage increases. Verdi has said it is demanding a 15% wage increase for around 160,000 employees at Deutsche Post with a 12-month term and training allowances to increase by 200 euros a month for each year of training. The next round of negotiations will take place Wednesday and Thursday, Deutsche Post said. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva. (christian.moess@wsj.com)
