Home Health International Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HHII), a DME distributor and home health services provider, announced today that it has reached an agreement with a global network of medical equipment suppliers.

Home Health International is currently finalizing a contract with a global network of medical equipment suppliers. The supplier network is comprised of 16 manufacturers of name-brand medical equipment. The manufacturers are located in Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, China, and Malaysia.

Product importation is critical to remaining competitive in the U.S. medical equipment market. According to the FDA, imports represent more than 35% of the $106 billion U.S. medical equipment market. While imported medical equipment often comes with a lower price tag, product quality is never sacrificed. Foreign manufacturers must meet applicable United States medical device regulations in order to import devices into the U.S. even if the product is authorized for marketing in another country.

By importing products directly from the manufacturers, Home Health International will realize significant cost savings over sourcing these products from domestic third-party wholesalers. These cost savings will allow Home Health International to capture greater profit margins on each product while maintaining highly competitive prices. Furthermore, Home Health International will be able to strengthen and diversify its product portfolio.
