FAIRLAWN, Ohio, May 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OMNOVA Solutions (NYSE:OMN) today announced that members of United Steelworkers Local 748-L have ratified a new labor agreement covering the Company's Columbus, Mississippi plant. A vote on the new three-year contract took place Wednesday, May 16. "We commend the union for their willingness to work together to address issues critical to the Columbus plant's future," said Robert Coleman, President of OMNOVA Solutions' Decorative Products business unit. "This contract will help OMNOVA to be competitive in a very challenging marketplace while continuing to provide excellent jobs, with very good wages and benefits, for employees, their families and the Columbus community." The Columbus, Mississippi facility is OMNOVA's largest manufacturing plant, with about 260 of its 400 employees represented by Local 748-L. The plant has been in operation for over 40 years, providing leading edge products to the commercial wallcovering and coated fabrics industries.
