Northwest Airlines (NYSE:NWA) will serve as the charter airline for the University of Wisconsin/Madison football team for the upcoming Big 10 season - as it did during the 2006 season when the team went 12-1, including the Badgers' victory over Arkansas in the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla. Northwest will utilize Boeing 757 and Airbus A320 aircraft to support the Badgers' five road trips during the 2007 season. "Northwest Airlines is pleased to once again be the charter carrier for the Wisconsin Badgers," said Bill Wernecke, director - charter department. "The University of Wisconsin has a first-class football program, and we hope to be carrying them to another major bowl game at the end of the coming season." One of the preferred charter carriers in the college and professional sports world, Northwest will serve as charter airline for a number of athletic teams in 2007, including 10 NCAA Division I college football teams and eight National Football League (NFL) teams.
