SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 7, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- KKR Financial Holdings LLC (NYSE: KFN) announced today that it has agreed to sell 18,000,000 of its common shares in an underwritten public offering.  The last reported sale price of the common shares on December 7, 2010 was $9.48 per share.  KFN also has granted the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to 2,700,000 additional common shares.  KFN intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to acquire assets in accordance with its core business strategy and for general corporate purposes.  Closing of the offering is expected to occur on or about December 13, 2010, subject to customary closing conditions.

Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated is acting as the sole underwriter for the offering.
