Appointments Asif Rahman Named Vice President Product Line
Management and Charles Roberts Named Vice President of

that it has named Asif Rahman to the position of vice president,
Product Line Management (PLM) and promoted Charles Roberts to the
position of vice president of Manufacturing Operations for its
Microwave Communications Division (MCD). "I'm very pleased with

experience in PLM. His knowledge, combined with Charlie's proven
ability in doubling production rates for Harris RF Communications

TRuepoint(TM) platform in North America, Latin America, China,
Europe, Asia-Pacific and Middle East/Africa." Launched in 2004,
TRuepoint is the most significant development effort ever at Harris
Microwave. Providing SDH and PDH in a single platform, TRuepoint
meets the current and future needs of all network operators,
including mobile, private network, government and access service
providers. The unique architecture of the core platform reduces
both capital expenditures and life-cycle costs while meeting all
international and North American standards. The wide range of
capacities, interfaces, modulation schemes, frequency and channel
plans, and transmit power levels are made available to meet the
requirements of any network anywhere in the world. In addition,
TRuepoint has undergone rigorous quality testing and verification.
Rahman has extensive experience in the management, marketing and
sales of transmission and transport products. He joins Harris from
Ericsson, where he most recently was vice president of Transmission
Sales, North American Key Accounts. Under his leadership, Ericsson
successfully entered the North America microwave market and
developed several long-term key account relationships. Roberts was
previously director of Manufacturing Operations at the company's RF
Communications Division (RFCD) in Rochester, New York, where he was
responsible for quality and manufacturing of printed circuit board
assemblies and the very successful Harris Falcon II family of
radios. While at Ericsson, Rahman led the North American team
responsible for microwave product management, marketing and
business management. Prior to this, Rahman was a product manager at
Ericsson's Microwave division in Molndal, Sweden, where he
supported Ericsson's activities in European and Asian markets.
Prior to joining Ericsson, he held engineering positions at MCI
Telecommunications and Applied Telecomm, Inc. Rahman has a bachelor
of science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M
University and a master's degree in Telecommunications from
Southern Methodist University. Roberts joined Harris in 1991 and
has since held positions of increasing responsibility within the
manufacturing organization of RFCD, including operations manager
for Strategic Programs, Sr. operations manager for Printed Circuit
Board Assembly, and director of Materials. He led numerous
successful process improvement initiatives within the division and
was an active member of the corporate Procurement and Supply Chain
Councils. Roberts has a bachelor of science degree in Civil
Engineering from the University of Iowa and earned his M.B.A. in
Operations Management from the University of New Mexico. About
