Harris Corporation Selected for $10 Million Design and Analysis Phase of the Electronic Records Archive Program WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A team led by Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) has been selected for a one-year, $10 million design and analysis phase of the Electronic Record Archives (ERA) program by the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The ERA program will enable NARA to authentically preserve and provide access to electronic archival records, free from dependency on any specific hardware or software. Harris is leading one of the two remaining teams competing for the eight-year ERA system development and support contract that is currently scheduled for award in August 2005. The announcement was made during a press conference at NARA headquarters in Washington, D.C. "This is a very exciting opportunity for Harris to apply its proven capabilities in large-volume data processing, archiving, access, ingest and distributed Web-based technology," said Al Dukes, president, Civil Programs business unit, Harris Government Communications Systems Division (GCSD). "We are very pleased that NARA -- a brand new customer for Harris -- has entrusted us to lead one of the industry teams for the fly-off phase of the program." Harris is acting as the prime systems integrator for its team, leading the development, integration, deployment and operation of the total archiving solution for NARA. Other team members are Booz, Allen and Hamilton, CACI International, Inc. and Information Manufacturing Corporation.
