WASHINGTON, Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- (AUSA Booth 1907) -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announced it has been awarded orders totaling approximately $130 million from the United States Army for Falcon(R) II AN/PRC-150(C) high frequency (HF) radio systems for tactical, secure, and joint communications applications. Contracting agencies include the U.S. Army's Communications-Electronics Command and Marine Corps Systems Command. "This significant order demonstrates the Army's continued standardization on the AN/PRC-150(C) that is broadly used by the Army Reserve and Army National Guard," said Dana Mehnert, president, Harris RF Communications Division. "These radios provide secure voice and data over long distances without relying on satellite infrastructure and have established a reputation for reliability in both combat and emergency situations. Falcon II HF radios have also achieved success in more than 100 countries around the world and have become the standard for the UK Ministry of Defence HF radio standardization program and for many NATO and coalition partners." The Falcon II AN/PRC-150(C) HF manpack radio continues to provide the U.S. Army with reliable and secure beyond-line-of-sight radio communications in the most demanding battlefield environments. Its embedded information security features enable secure ground-to-ground and ground-to-air communications in all HF modes and in fixed-frequency modes with SINCGARS radios, thus becoming the long-range combat radio of choice for U.S. forces.
