ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announced that the U.S. Army has awarded the company a $58 million order for Falcon(R) II AN/PRC-150(C) high-frequency (HF) radio systems for tactical, secure, and joint communications applications. The order has been awarded under the terms of a previously announced Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. "The U.S. Army's transformation demands that smaller groups of forces be able to securely communicate at greater distances," said Jerry Adams, director, U.S. Army Sales, Harris RF Communications Division. "The long-haul capabilities of the AN/PRC-150(C) radio systems allow soldiers to transmit voice, data, images, and situational awareness information, using the highest grade of encryption available." Harris will supply its AN/PRC-150(C) manpack and AN/VRC-104(V)3 vehicular systems. The Harris AN/PRC-150(C) is an advanced, high-frequency radio covering the 1.6 to 60 MHz frequency spectrum and its embedded communications security has been certified for transmission of U.S. classified information.
