AN/PRC-150(C) HF Radios Valued at Approximately $50 Million
ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris
Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading supplier of secure, tactical
radios for defense forces worldwide, has been awarded a contract
for nearly $50 million by the U.S. Army for Harris Falcon(R) II
AN/PRC-150(C) manpack and AN/VRC-104 vehicular high-frequency (HF)
radios. "These advanced HF radio systems will be used for the
Army's Modularity Program and to address the critical needs of the
Army National Guard and Reserve," said Dana Mehnert, vice president
and general manager of business development and operations, Harris
RF Communications Division. "Harris is pleased to continue to
support the Army with secure radio system solutions that address
its demanding communication requirements." Modularity is the Army's
major force-transformation initiative and involves the redesign of
the operational Army into a larger, more powerful, flexible and
rapidly deployable force. The AN/PRC-150(C) is the only HF radio
with embedded communications security that has been certified for
transmission of U.S. classified information. Along with the Harris
AN/PRC-117F(C) multiband, multimission radio, the AN/PRC-150(C) has
been a vital means of tactical Beyond Line of Site (BLOS) radio
communications for U.S. forces deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom
and Operation Enduring Freedom. Harris RF Communications Division
is a leading supplier of secure voice and data communications
products, systems and networks to military, government, and
commercial organizations worldwide. Harris Corporation is an
