Ricardo A. Navarro Named Vice President-Corporate Development for Harris Corporation MELBOURNE, Fla., May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today named Ricardo A. Navarro as vice president-corporate development. Navarro, 54, had been senior vice president-business development and integration for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Navarro will be responsible for the identification, negotiations and integration of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other alliances of the company. He will report to Kent Buchanan, vice president-corporate technology and development, and chief growth officer for Harris. "Rick has an expansive background and proven track record in development activities across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, high technology, defense and financial services," said Howard L. Lance, chairman, president and chief executive officer. "He has been very effective in leading cross-functional teams in transactions where post-closing results exceed expectations for shareholder value, growth and sustainable competitive advantage. He will be a key player in our growth initiatives." Prior to joining Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Navarro was senior vice president of corporate development for Solectron Corporation, a leading provider of contract electronics manufacturing services. Previously he served for 10 years as vice president-corporate development for Honeywell International where he structured a multibillion dollar series of global transactions in a broad spectrum of industries, including aerospace, electronics, distributed power, industrial and marine and information-based spaces. Prior to joining Honeywell, he served in M&A and financial positions with Citicorp, Bank of America and Citibank. He began his career as a structural engineer with Rockwell International. Navarro was graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a B.S. degree in structural engineering and received an M.B.A. degree from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.
