Harris Corporation and BSA TS Deliver TRuepoint(TM) for Data and Video to Digital Distribution Australia RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading global provider of wireless equipment and services, and Broadcast Services Australia Limited (ASX:BSA) Transmission Services, Australia's leading turnkey equipment and services supplier for both broadcast and telecommunications service providers, today announced that Digital Distribution Australia (DDA) has purchased Harris' TRuepoint(TM) next-generation microwave radio for use in its network. DDA, which works with some of the largest service providers in Australia, acts as a "carrier's carrier," delivering managed bandwidth services for video, data and voice to carriers nationwide over its custom-built broadband network. "As a provider of wholesale bandwidth to regional carriers across Australia, we needed to create a network that was capable of serving a diverse set of service provider customers with very exacting demands," stated Peter Lambourne, DDA's Managing Director. "As a result, we needed wireless infrastructure that could provide broadcast quality video, as well as data, for a varied set of markets and with a high level of reliability for the exacting standards of service providers. DDA purchased Harris TRuepoint, the industry's first universal platform for point-to-point digital communications, through BSA TS. TRuepoint will augment DDA's extensive wireless telecommunications network, which spans the east coast of Australia. DDA plans to offer a wide variety of data and broadcast-quality video through this network. Together, BSA TS and Harris Microwave will offer DDA a complete, end-to-end solution for wireless infrastructure including installation and ongoing support. Harris and BSA TS signed a distribution agreement in December 2004, in which BSA TS distributes Harris microwave products through its extensive network of Australian broadcaster and service provider customers.
