China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd. (0762.HK) plans to start offering Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPhone 4 smartphone on Saturday, a China Unicom spokesman who declined to be named said Monday.

China Unicom took nearly 50,000 pre-orders for the iPhone 4 on Friday last week, the first day it was accepting pre-orders, the spokesman said.
