Bank of New York Mellon Corp. on Wednesday said it named Jennifer Barker chief executive of its treasury services business, effective May 2.

The New York custody bank said Ms. Barker, who will also become a member of its executive committee, joins from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she most recently served as head of client service and implementation in the firm's payments business.

BNY Mellon's treasury services business provides domestic and cross-border payments, U.S. dollar clearing, trade finance and liquidity management capabilities.

BNY Mellon said Paul Adamo, who has been serving as interim treasury services CEO since Paul Camp left last year to become head of global treasury management at Wells Fargo & Co., will return to his post as chief financial and operating officer of the unit, reporting to Ms. Barker.
