Aflac's Dan Amos Named One of America's Best CEOs for the Third Consecutive Year COLUMBUS, Ga., March 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Institutional Investor magazine named Dan Amos, Aflac chairman and chief executive officer, as one of the best CEOs within the financial institution arena for the third consecutive year. Amos ranked as one of the top CEOs in the insurance/life category. Amos joined the Columbus, Ga.-based insurer in 1973, working in sales for 10 years. He was named president of the company in 1983 and chief operating officer in 1987. Amos became chief executive officer of Aflac Incorporated in 1990 and chairman in 2001.
