Aflac's Dan Amos Named One of America's Best CEOs for the Third
Consecutive Year COLUMBUS, Ga., March 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Institutional Investor magazine named Dan Amos, Aflac chairman and
chief executive officer, as one of the best CEOs within the
financial institution arena for the third consecutive year. Amos
ranked as one of the top CEOs in the insurance/life category. Amos
joined the Columbus, Ga.-based insurer in 1973, working in sales
for 10 years. He was named president of the company in 1983 and
chief operating officer in 1987. Amos became chief executive
officer of Aflac Incorporated in 1990 and chairman in 2001. Since
Amos became CEO, company revenues have grown from $2.7 billion to
$13.3 billion as of Dec. 31, 2004. Under his leadership, Aflac has
been recognized for the company's people-first approach to
management. In February 2005, Aflac was named by Fortune magazine
as one of "America's Most Admired Companies" for the fifth
consecutive year, ranking Aflac as the most innovative company in
the life and health insurance category. Additionally, National

Amos is credited for broadening Aflac's U.S. and Japan product
lines. He is also responsible for launching the national Aflac Duck
advertising campaign, resulting in 90 percent brand awareness for
the company. Amos is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a
degree in risk management and insurance. Institutional Investor
magazine identified the select group of 181 chief executive
officers by asking portfolio managers and sell-side equity analysts
to choose the top-performing CEOs in their respective domains. The
highest scoring CEOs were categorized by sector and industry. Aflac
