Aetna Rolls Out New More Affordable Health Plans for East Suburban Cleveland Small Businesses
August 17 2011 - 2:43PM
Business Wire
Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced today the launch of new health plan
options in east suburban Cleveland called “Aetna Savings Plus.” The
plans are designed for small businesses and offer a reduced
small-group premium if employees use the hospitals and physicians
in the Lake Health System.
The plans are part of a growing trend to pass along the savings
from well-priced hospitals and physicians to employers and plan
members.
“Employers are looking for ways to contain health insurance
costs. Providing health benefits can be particularly difficult for
small employers,” said Jay Timm, president of Aetna’s Ohio market.
“Having options that can reduce a business’ monthly outlay – as
well as its employees’ out-of-pocket costs -- is important in
today’s economic environment.”
With the Aetna Savings Plus plans, health plan members have
lower deductibles and co-pays and higher percentages of their bills
covered when they use Lake Health System than when they use other
health care providers in the regular Aetna network.
“Aetna members know and trust Lake Health System, which has
proven to deliver well-respected health care services at reasonable
prices,” said Timm. “They were a natural choice for a plan like
this designed for businesses in all of Lake County, Eastern
Cuyahoga, parts of Geauga, and northwestern Ashtabula County.”
Bundled into the Aetna Savings Plus plans are Aetna’s women’s
health programs such as the Beginning Right program(SM), BRCA
genetic testing for those requesting it, and breast health
education; disease management programs including one-on-one nurse
support; wellness programs and health assessment tools; an employee
assistance program; and several discount programs.
