Aetna (NYSE: AET) Behavioral Health has announced a new approach
to providing people with the emotional and lifestyle support they
need to lead healthier and more productive lives. The suite of
offerings is called Resources For Living. Aetna is currently
piloting one of the offerings called My Resources for Living Well
with select customers. My Resources for Living Well combines the
behavioral health benefits traditionally associated with a
Worklife/Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with targeted health and
wellness programs that help people make lasting healthy lifestyle
changes.
“My Resources for Living Well is a personalized program aimed at
improving overall well-being through behavior change techniques,
one-on-one coaching and a proactive approach to reaching the people
who need it most,” said Hyong Un, MD, Aetna’s chief psychiatric
officer and head of the Resources For Living suite of programs. “By
reaching out directly to members who need our help, we can get them
connected to services that can measurably improve their health and
productivity.”
Resources For Living is a suite of offerings designed to engage
people in addressing lifestyle issues and workplace stresses. The
programs provide an easy, comfortable and safe environment for
people to get the services that best support their unique personal
needs. Members can access the services through multiple channels,
making it possible for every person to get the help they need when
and how it's needed. Resources For Living is supported by a robust
website, a 24/7 call center staffed with professional counselors,
one of the largest national face-to-face provider networks, online
educational materials and other resources.
In addition, Aetna Behavioral Health’s proprietary technology
called the SIGNAL System® helps counselors monitor and enhance the
services members are receiving by providing indicators such as a
person’s level of distress and how well the person is engaging in
the coaching process. SIGNAL provides a state-of-the-art platform
that evaluates the members’ emotion, thinking and feeling in order
to recommend the behavioral change interventions that will work
best.
