Accuride Corporation Announces Joint Venture with Benecor

Business Wire
Today, Accuride Corporation (NYSE: ACW) announced that it
hasentered intoa joint venture with Benecor, Inc. Through the
joint venture, the companies will focus on building a Diesel
Exhaust Fluid(DEF)(UREA) dispensing infrastructure. Engine and
truck manufacturers have spent tremendous resources developing
engine offeringsthat comply withnewemissions standardsthat
become effectivein 2010. Many have adopted Selective Catalytic
Reduction (SCR) technology that requires the use of DEF(UREA) as a
central operating fluid that virtually
eliminatesnitrous-oxide(NOx)emissions from diesel engines. In
addition to having equipment on a vehicle that provides emissions
compliance,it is equally important to have easy access to the
fluid required to operate this system. Accuride and Benecor are
joining together to provide the dispensing systems required to
service this coming need. We are very happy to fill this need in
the market place, explained Steve Holt, Accurides Senior Vice
President of Strategy, Growth, and Technology. Accuride has strong
relationships throughout thecommercial vehicleindustry as does
Benecor. Our truck, OEM and fleetcustomers, DEF producers,
andchemical distributors are thrilled to have us step up and fill
this market void. We are planning to build an infrastructure which
will provide acost-effectivesolution to ensure ease of compliance
for the industry. We recognize the sheer scope of effort required
to meet the needs of this market rollout, and joining with Accuride
will afford us the opportunity to expedite themanufacturing and
installation of the storage and dispensing units at truck
stops, diesel fueling stations and fleets throughoutNorth America.
We could not have asked for a better partner to meet this
challenge, explained Brendan Foster, President of Benecor.
