Perry Ellis International, Inc. (NASDAQ:PERY) announced today that Joe Shannon has been appointed president of the Perry Ellis Retail Outlet Division, effective immediately. Mr. Shannon will be based at PEI's headquarters in Miami, Fla. He will oversee the merchandising, sales and operations for all Perry Ellis retail outlets. PEI currently offers shopping opportunities at 32 outlet stores in 18 states. Joe served most recently as President of Carter's Childrenswear Retail. At Carter's, Joe was responsible for 175 stores nationwide, and oversaw the opening of 45 new outlet locations. Prior to this position, Joe served as President of Bugle Boy Retail. Mr. Shannon will report to Tony Campbell, executive vice president of business development. "Joe arrives at a critical point for our outlet store strategy," Campbell said.
