COLUMBIA, Md.  , June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its partnership with Delaware North Companies Sportservice by implementing the MICROS 9700 Hospitality Management System (HMS) with Food & Beverage and Retail functionalities as its stadium management solution throughout Great American Ball Park, home to the Cincinnati Reds.  The point-of-sale installation at Great American Ballpark, located in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, spans 28 concession stands, two restaurants, 65 suites, seven retail stores, including the Reds Team Shop, and mobile service for 42,271 seats.

The complete solution implemented by MICROS includes Keyboard Workstation 270 (KW270) POS terminals used in fixed and portable concessions; Workstation 5A (WS5A) touchscreen terminals for use in fine-dining areas, suites and retail stores; Mobile MICROS with MC55A handheld devices for traditional in-seat ordering and MC55A handheld devices for use at the Reds Team Shop and Vivo PAY 4500m readers for Pay Pass and consumer-facing credit-card swiping.

To extend cost savings to the stadium, MICROS was also able to use existing components from the stadium's previous MICROS TangentPOS system.

Additional software implemented includes the MICROS 9700 HMS version 3.6 with perpetual inventory and vending solutions, the MICROS 9700 Suites Management module for managing the stadium's 65 suites, the MICROS iCare CRM and loyalty solution for Stored Value Ticketing and gift cards, and the mymicros.net business intelligence solution for enterprise reporting.

"The new MICROS solutions have been very well received by our team at Great American Ball Park and the fans that attend the stadium's events," said Kevin Quinlivan, Chief Information Officer at Delaware North Companies.  "We are excited about the Mobile MICROS solution being used in the Reds Team Shop, where we are using handheld terminals with Bluetooth printers to improve our operational processes.  Our associates can reduce long lines during peak periods by moving from behind the counter and out in front of the customers to ring transactions."

"Delaware North's choice to move forward with MICROS's latest solutions is a testament to our strong partnership, which we are thrilled to strengthen and expand with the installation at the Great American Ball Park," said Don DeMarinis, Vice President of Leisure and Entertainment at MICROS Systems, Inc. "The solutions which we have implemented have introduced new functionalities and unique service capabilities, allowing the ballpark to offer the best service possible to its fans."
