The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has named Interactive Intelligence (Nasdaq: ININ) among the 2010 “Best Places to Work in Indiana.”

Interactive Intelligence, a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, was ranked 16th out of 42 companies within the chamber’s “large companies” category. This is the fourth consecutive year the Indiana Chamber of Commerce has named Interactive Intelligence a “best place to work.”

“Companies that make our list of ‘best places to work’ demonstrate strong workplace practices rooted in respect, teamwork and good communication,” said Indiana Chamber president, Kevin Brinegar. “These are first-rate employers because they understand that making employees feel valued goes hand-in-hand with the success of their business.”

“A major reason we’ve been successful is because we’ve not only been able to attract incredibly smart people, but so many of them have stayed with us for a decade or more,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown. “This kind of loyalty is rare in the competitive software industry and I want to thank everyone at our company for the kind of passion and commitment that’s helped make Interactive Intelligence a ‘best place to work.’”

Founded in 1997 with less than a dozen software developers, today Interactive Intelligence employs approximately 700 people worldwide with about 450 employees based in Indiana. Currently it’s the only publicly traded computer software company headquartered in the state.

The Interactive Intelligence global headquarters are based in Indianapolis. Its two northwest-side buildings occupy a total of about 200,000 square-feet and feature a modern, award-winning interior design with fitness center, game room, café, and more.

Interactive Intelligence employee benefits include a comprehensive health and vision insurance program, a wellness program, a 401(k) matching program, tuition reimbursement, a computer loan purchase plan, and casual dress code. Unique family benefits include paternity leave for new dads and adoption assistance.

In addition to its 2010 “Best Places to Work in Indiana” award, Interactive Intelligence has been honored locally as one of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s “Top 25 Fastest Growing Public Companies,” a United Way of Central Indiana “Company that Cares,” and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s “Outstanding Employer of the Year.”

The 2010 “Best Places to Work in Indiana” program honors the top companies in the state, as determined through employer reports and comprehensive employee surveys. Winners were selected from two categories: small to medium-sized companies of between 25 and 249 employees, and large-sized companies consisting of 250 or more employees.
