United Way of Central Indiana honored Interactive Intelligence
(Nasdaq: ININ) with its Company that Cares award for meeting
fundraising, community volunteer, leadership, and other
participatory goals. This award demonstrates that Interactive
Intelligence sets the same rigorous standards for community
involvement as it does for its core business, said UWCI president
and CEO Ellen K. Annala. Interactive Intelligence, which develops
business communications software, met its goals during the UWCI
2007 annual workplace campaign. The company was among 350
six-county Central Indiana-area firms out of more than 1,500 to
earn the Company that Cares distinction. This was the first year
Interactive Intelligence participated. While weve always
supported our community through responsible business practices and
various individual contributions, were focused now on a more
organized effort that engages every employee, said Interactive
Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown. Were building
on our Company that Cares distinction with initiatives this year
that range from supporting our troops and veterans, to activities
designed to improve the lives of underprivileged children. Through
the United Way, Interactive Intelligence has already helped local
organizations this year such as Second Helpings, the Hoosier
Veterans Assistance Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central
Indiana, the Salvation Army, and the Julian Center. In addition to
its United Way involvement, Interactive Intelligence has worked
with Habitat for Humanity, the Indiana University-Kenya Partnership
(a program for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS) and other
not-for-profit organizations. The company has also begun
formalizing a green initiative designed to minimize its impact on
the environment. Interactive Intelligence is a global provider of
