Fisher Fundraising Effort for Japan Relief Crosses Half-Million Dollar Mark

Fisher Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSCI), a leader in local media
innovation, in partnership with the Red Cross, is helping the
victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Beginning with a daylong effort on March 16th, Fisher's
television, radio and online media properties -- across six markets
and all of the Company's online and mobile platforms -- have been
raising money throughout the Northwest and California in
partnership with the American Red Cross.
While donations are still being accepted, to date, Fisher's
viewers, listeners and online community have raised $550,000 to
support the Red Cross' relief work. The funds will be used to
assist the 95 medical teams deployed by the Red Cross who are
continuing to deliver food, shelter and emotional support to those
in need in Japan.
Randy Hutson, CEO of Seattle Red Cross, said, "The fundraising
effort launched between the Red Cross and Fisher Communications is
one of the most successful I've seen during my time with the Red
Cross. The idea was created and launched within days of the
disaster and the amazing work of both Fisher's staff and Red Cross

enabled us to reach people not only through television, but radio
and the Internet, providing a lot of flexibility for the general
public."

Donations are still being accepted through Fisher's online
properties or by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10
contribution.
