Today's challenging economic climate is driving the need for community involvement more now than ever before. Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS) recognizes the need for corporate responsibility and is pleased to announce their three year sponsorship agreement with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco. The company will participate in Habitat’s newest and most ambitious development to date in Greater San Francisco – a four-story, 36 condominium development that will provide new, affordable housing opportunities for local working families.

Fairchild will participate in routine team building projects throughout the three year endeavor. The first one is scheduled during the week of April 25 and will include approximately 30 employees who will fully staff the building project for the day.

“We’re pleased to sponsor Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco, and to take part in the building process in Daly City. One of our corporate responsibility initiatives is to support non-profit organizations like Habitat that improve the local communities where we live and work,” said Mark Thompson, president, CEO and Chairman. “Complementing our long history of innovation in Silicon Valley with community partnerships is an important goal for our company.”

“Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco is privileged to form this partnership with Fairchild Semiconductor in our mission to provide affordable housing for local working families,” said Phillip Kilbridge, executive director of Habitat Greater San Francisco. “Fairchild’s culture of philanthropy and volunteerism is commendable and we are honored to have their participation in our Daly City development, where many of their employees will contribute hundreds of volunteer hours in the construction of our Mission Street homes.”

Fairchild San Jose supports other community programs including: ISMEE for teacher training, Silicon Valley Leadership Group Turkey Trot Fittest Firm Competition, the Second Harvest Food Bank and the San Jose Tech Museum.

The company’s corporate philanthropy program is aligned with their business strategies and community relations efforts to help make their communities, employees and company more successful. Fairchild’s key initiatives are centered around: Community Engagement; Health and Wellness; Pre-K to 12 Science, Technology and Math Education; and Energy Efficiency.
