Fairchild Semiconductor Receives Core Supplier Award from Hisense-Kelon Aircon Group

In the white goods and other markets that need motion control, the industry is demanding solutions that increase efficiency, decrease system cost and simplify design. Replacing induction motors with permanent-magnet motors can increase efficiency by 5 percent, and using a DC inverter in inverter air-conditioners and other home appliances can lower energy consumption by 40 percent.

Fairchild provides Hisense-Kelon with total solutions for their inverter based air-conditioners. The Motion-SPM™ product family integrates all the well-proven elements needed in a Mini-DIP package, including HVIC, LVIC, NPT IGBT, FRD and bootstrap diode, reducing the need for up to 22 discrete components. Motion-SPM products are also an excellent solution for home appliances or industrial motor applications that require high power because they deliver excellent inverter power control to implement high efficiency three-phase motors, while greatly reducing PCB size, cost and time-to-market, and increase system reliability.
