CyberGuard Achieves Common Criteria EAL 4+ Certification for its
Enterprise-Class TSP Network Security Appliances Certification
Demonstrates CyberGuard's Commitment to Meeting Tough U.S.
Government Security Requirements as Part of NIAP Program BOCA

it has achieved Common Criteria EAL 4+ Certification from the
National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) for the 1000,
3000, and 5000 lines of its TSP network security appliances. EAL4+
is the highest mutually recognized certification level, assuring
customers that CyberGuard's products have gone through a long and
rigorous testing process. "When dealing with complex IT security

conformed to 31 of the defined Common Criteria classes of
assurance. The Common Criteria for Information Technology Security
Evaluation (CCITSE) is a set of evaluation criteria agreed to by
the United States' National Security Agency/National Institute of
Standards and Technologies and equivalent bodies in 22 other
countries. It was designed to resolve the technical and conceptual
differences among existing standards for the evaluation of security
systems and products. Certification to the Common Criteria EAL4
requires in-depth analysis of product design and development
