Ingenix and Cerner to Integrate Coder and Grouper Workflow Within Millennium
October 11 2010 - 6:00PM
Cerner Corporation (Nasdaq:CERN) announced a reseller agreement
with Ingenix to enhance Cerner's revenue cycle offerings by
enabling complete integration of the medical coding and prospective
payment system (PPS) solutions into the Cerner Millennium®
platform. This collaboration provides integration within Cerner's
revenue cycle platform and Ingenix's industry leading solutions.
Ingenix solutions now offered by Cerner include an advanced set
of medical coding content, rules and encoding tools that help
hospitals improve medical coding accuracy and productivity; and
EASYGroup, a comprehensive library of prospective payment
reimbursement rules. The addition of these Ingenix solutions gives
Cerner clients access to a broader suite of revenue cycle solutions
to increase revenue capture, accelerate cash flow and reduce
administrative costs. Benefits of this combined offering
include:
- Enhanced coding lookup directly within Cerner Millennium
applications and direct entry of codes with editing capabilities;
- Integrated grouping solutions supporting ten federal payment
systems (DRG, APC, etc.) as well as more than 30
state/payer-specific payment systems;
- Extensive editing capabilities integrated into the Millennium
workflow including Medicare Code Editor, Outpatient Code Editor,
Correct Coding Initiative Editor, Unlikely Edits, Local/National
Coverage Determinations and Ingenix clinical and reimbursement
edits;
- Enhanced usability not requiring additional screens to be
launched, and interaction within the Cerner solution as the user
takes advantage of the Ingenix embedded functionality.
Ingenix is exhibiting its revenue cycle management services at
the Cerner Health Conference, Oct. 10-12, 2010 in Kansas City, Mo.,
