Century Casinos Updates Status of Colorado VLT Ballot Issue And Johannesburg Casino License CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Century Casinos, Inc. announced today that Colorado Amendment 33 relating to the legalization of Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) on the race tracks throughout Colorado has been voted down by approximately 81% of the voters on November 4, 2003. This is the fourth time since 1992 that an initiative to expand gaming outside the three towns of Cripple Creek, Blackhawk and Central City was soundly defeated. The Company contributed a total of $119,000 non-tax deductible dollars towards the defeat of Amendment 33 in 2003. This was a charge to net income of $31,000 in the second quarter, $76,000 in the third quarter and will result in a charge of approximately $15,000 in the fourth quarter. Silverstar further informed the Company that an application seeking leave to appeal is heard by the judge who made the original ruling and only if the application is granted may the applying party proceed to an appeal. Silverstar believes that this hearing may take place later this month. Notwithstanding this action by the Gauteng Gambling Board, Silverstar has advised the Company that it is continuing its efforts to secure the remaining development approvals that will be required to enable the project to ultimately proceed.
