The Art and Design division of Career Education Corporation (CEC), a leading provider of career-focused education, has created a two-week Facebook campaign that will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). Between Feb. 14 to Feb. 28, Facebook users can visit the four fan pages of the Art and Design schools of CEC and choose to “like” the page. For each new “like,” CEC will donate $1 to RMHC, up to a maximum donation of $5,000.

After 36 years, RMHC continues to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. RMHC and its network of local Chapters tailor these programs to address the most urgent needs of each community they serve through the Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Family Room® and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile® programs, as well as through grants to other non-profit organizations.

The participating schools include Brooks Institute, Harrington College of Design, Collins College and the International Academy of Design and Technology. When visiting the school pages, users can learn more about RMHC and the services it provides and “like” the page to secure the $1 donation for RMHC.

“We are fortunate to be able to give back to Ronald McDonald House Charities in a way that involves the participation of our students, alumni and community on Facebook,” said Tom McNamara, senior vice president of the Art and Design division of CEC. “We are proud to make this donation on behalf of the online communities of our Art and Design schools.”

As part of the campaign, each campus will launch a pop-tab drive. After the tabs are collected, the campus community outreach manager will take the collection to the local RMHC Chapter for recycling in exchange for the cash value.

In the fall of 2009, CEC announced its corporate partnership with RMHC, benefiting the organization’s Houses in 52 locations across the country. In additional to monetary donations, CEC students, faculty and staff provide volunteer services to support global and local RMHC operations and programs. To date, CEC students and staff have contributed more than 3,000 volunteer hours to RMHC.

“Career Education Corporation and its schools have been an invaluable partner to us as we work to fulfill our mission to support both the children and the families that we serve,” said Marty Coyne, president and CEO of RMHC. “Through this campaign, Facebook users can join the Art and Design schools of CEC and do their part to support RMHC by a simple click of a button.”
