Colorado Technical University Board of Trustees Selects Jeremy Wheaton as Chief Executive Officer

After an internal and external candidate search, the Colorado Technical University (CTU) Board of Trustees has selected Jeremy Wheaton as the university’s new Chief Executive Officer. A 16-year veteran of private-sector education, Wheaton served as a member of the CTU Board of Trustees for the past six years.

Wheaton was previously Senior Vice President of Operations for the culinary schools, including Le Cordon Bleu, of Illinois-based Career Education Corporation (CEC). CTU is also a part of the CEC family of schools. Wheaton joined CEC in 1995 and has worked in various roles, including Senior Vice President of Operations for CEC's former Online Education Group.

David Leasure, Ph.D., who selflessly stepped in as CTU's Interim CEO during the search, will continue to serve as CTU’s Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Leasure’s expertise in computer science, including his years working in the private sector and his significant post-secondary education experience, will continue to be an asset for CTU faculty and students. He will also continue to serve on the CTU Board of Trustees.
