Brown has been hired as Chief Financial Officer of both the Corporation and the Bank, effective May 1, 2006. Brown is a veteran banker with over 33 years experience in the Columbia market. Prior to joining the Carolina National team, Brown served as Senior Officer and Director of Accounting Systems and Projects at Netbank, Inc. (formerly RBMG) from 1998 to 2006. For six years prior to that, Brown served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Comsouth Bankshares, Inc., a multi-bank holding company which owned two community banks, The Bank of Charleston and The Bank of Columbia. Prior to joining Comsouth, he served as Senior Staff Auditor, Manager of General Accounting and Financial Systems for South Carolina National Bank over a 19 year period concluding after SCN's merger with Wachovia Bank.
