Caribou Coffee Appoints Rosalyn Mallet, La Madeleine French Bakery, Cafe and Bistro COO, to Board of Directors

The Caribou Coffee Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOU) announced today
that Rosalyn "Roz" Mallet, Chief Operating Officer of la Madeleine
French Bakery, Cafe and Bistro, has joined the Caribou Coffee Board
of Directors. Mallet is responsible for the day-to-day operations
of 65 la Madeleine bakery-cafes, serves on the Board of Directors
of the National Restaurant Association and is the Lead Director on
the board of Share Our Strength, a national organization whose
mission is to end childhood hunger. Mallet brings an added
dimension of leadership to the Caribou Coffee Board of Directors
with her experience in operations, human resources, training and
franchising. Her leadership in the restaurant industry will
strengthen Caribou Coffee's strategic focus and growth. "Caribou

Mallet joins the current Caribou Coffee Board of Directors,
comprised of the following leadership: Michael J. Coles, Chairman,
Chief Executive Officer and President, Caribou Coffee; Kip R.
Caffey, Managing Director of Cary Street Partners, LLC; Wallace
(Wally) B. Doolin, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief
Executive Officer and President of Buca, Inc.; Charles (Chuck) L.
Griffith, Executive Director of Arcapita; Jeffrey (Jeff) C. Neal,
retired from Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.; and Charles (Charlie) H.
Ogburn, Executive Director of Arcapita. Prior to la Madeleine,
Mallet was senior vice president of human resources at Carlson
Companies and senior vice president of human resources and
corporate services for Carlson Restaurants. She also has held
executive positions in human resources, training and franchising
with Applebee's International and was a co-founder of American
Service Management Resources, a consulting firm specializing in
human resource consulting and recruiting for the hospitality
industry. Mallet has been recognized as a "Motivator of the Year"
by the Elliot Group, and has been listed by Nation's Restaurant
News as one of the "25 Most Powerful Women" and as one of the
"Fifty New Players". She has also received a Lifetime Achievement
Award from the Hospitality Industry Diversity Institute. Mallet
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's University in San
Antonio, Texas, and was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Food
Service by the National Association of Food Equipment
