The Caribou Coffee Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOU) announced today that Rosalyn "Roz" Mallet, Chief Operating Officer of la Madeleine French Bakery, Cafe and Bistro, has joined the Caribou Coffee Board of Directors. Mallet is responsible for the day-to-day operations of 65 la Madeleine bakery-cafes, serves on the Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association and is the Lead Director on the board of Share Our Strength, a national organization whose mission is to end childhood hunger. Mallet brings an added dimension of leadership to the Caribou Coffee Board of Directors with her experience in operations, human resources, training and franchising. She also has held executive positions in human resources, training and franchising with Applebee's International and was a co-founder of American Service Management Resources, a consulting firm specializing in human resource consulting and recruiting for the hospitality industry. Mallet has been recognized as a "Motivator of the Year" by the Elliot Group, and has been listed by Nation's Restaurant News as one of the "25 Most Powerful Women" and as one of the "Fifty New Players". She has also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hospitality Industry Diversity Institute. Mallet holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, and was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Food Service by the National Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers.
