Students will witness swearing-in ceremony and inaugural address, attend inaugural ball and be a part of history SPOKANE, Wash., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- People to People Ambassador Programs, the leader in global educational travel experiences, will travel more than 2,000 students to Washington, D.C. on its Presidential Inaugural Program, January 17-21. As part of its premiere Leadership Programs geared toward students in fifth through twelfth grades, the Presidential Inaugural Program will provide a wealth of historical learning opportunities for students from around the country as they examine the 2008 presidential race, study the leadership legacies of past presidents and witness history as Barack Obama, the first-ever African American President, is sworn-in to office. Students will also have the unique opportunity to hear personal stories from Mary Eisenhower, granddaughter of former president Dwight D. Eisenhower and 1960 Olympic gold medalist Rafer Johnson. Johnson worked on Robert F. Kennedy's presidential campaign in 1968.
