Procera® Networks Inc. (NYSE Amex: PKT), a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, today announced that its industry leading PacketLogic(TM) PL10014 outperformed competitors, including Cisco SCE-8000, in the Internet Evolution peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic detection test conducted in January 2009 by the European Advanced Networking Test Center AG (EANTC).

Test Result Highlights:

-- The performance of DPI devices increased massively in the last year,
    retaining very good detection rates.
-- Procera Networks' PacketLogic PL10014 demonstrated very good detection
accuracy and blocking efficiency, and at 80Gbps has one of the highest
capacity ratings of all DPI platforms.

Jon Linden, VP Global Marketing at Procera Networks, states, "The results verify our claims, but most importantly what our Tier-1 operator customers have seen in their deployments. It is disappointing that only three of the 15 invited vendors took part and chose to present the results of this comparison. Our carrier-grade PL10000 Series, like all Procera products, is built from the ground up for maximum accuracy, capacity and performance."

The specific test reached the conclusion that, "... DPI devices implement the requisite features in detection, regulation, and filtering, and offer the necessary performance and accuracy required in today's service provider environments. In other words, whether we talk about intelligent management of consumer traffic or about freeing bandwidth by throttling the massive amount of P2P traffic, the devices we tested are ready to be rolled out in service provider backbones," as reported by Carsten Rossenhovel, Managing Director of the EANTC.
