Delinea Signs Application Implementation and Management Agreement With Maine Public Service Company DALLAS, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Delinea Corporation, an application and business process management company serving the energy and utility industries, today announced it has signed a multi-year agreement to implement, host and manage its Utility Enterprise Management (UEM) solution for Maine Public Service Company, a subsidiary of Maine and Maritimes Corporation . Under the agreement, Delinea will implement its UEM solution in a four- phase program beginning with financial systems. The complete UEM solution implemented at Maine Public Service Company will include applications for back office processes (financial, HR), field office processes (construction and maintenance management, project accounting, enterprise asset management) and front office processes (customer service, billing). The agreement follows Delinea's participation in a Maine Public Service Company internal initiative, launched in 2002, that focused on identifying opportunities for the utility to improve its operational efficiencies and transition to an infrastructure that will increase customer satisfaction, as well as support enhanced corporate governance and regulatory compliance. "We selected Delinea's UEM solution after an extensive sourcing study of solutions available," said J. Nick Bayne, President and CEO of Maine Public Service Company. "Increasing regulatory and governance requirements, combined with an increasing need to optimize operations through information technology applications has resulted in a mandate for today's electric utility to improve productivity by enhancing the timeliness and nature of information between and among differing operating divisions of the utility. Delinea's UEM solution provides the technology platform that will support our need for increased productivity, help ensure full regulatory compliance and improve customer service. The Delinea UEM solution provides a number of advantages to utilities including a competitive cost of operations, improved financial processes, improved customer service, lowered technology risk and scalability without major capital investment. With Delinea's applications lifecycle management approach, Maine Public Service rapidly improves access to information across the enterprise while avoiding the time consuming and costly implementations of more traditional solutions. Delinea's UEM solution delivers a range of both immediate and sustainable benefits to middle market utilities that are facing accelerating change in their market. "The UEM solution has been designed to be rapidly implemented and highly flexible, helping utilities embrace and take advantage of change," said Trey Swain, President and COO of Delinea. "Our UEM solution was selected for its ability to meet the needs of Maine Public Service Company as they transform themselves to succeed in the new energy and deregulated marketplace."
