Baldwin Technology Company, Inc. (AMEX: BLD), a leading global
manufacturer of printing press accessories and control equipment,
announced today that it had recently secured significant orders in
North America for its Impact(R) automatic cleaning systems. The
company valued the orders at approximately $2 million. The Journal
and Courier in Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana, a Gannett
company, ordered Baldwin's IMPACTflex blanket cleaning systems for
installation on its new MAN Geoman 70 press which will be delivered
this spring. In addition, the Denver Newspaper Agency placed orders
for blanket cleaning systems to be fitted on five new Geoman
presses that will be installed during the summer. Karl Puehringer,
President and COO, commented, "IMPACTflex provides our customers a
cleaning system that gives them the flexibility to remain in
compliance with increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
This unique FLEX cleaning technology allows printers to operate in
either the wet PREPAC or dry cloth and solvent mode and
incorporates advanced cloth and fluid management features which
maximizes cleaning performance while minimizing consumable usage.
These orders along with several others that we have recently
received have added to our backlogs which have grown noticeably
from the levels at the end of the prior quarter." About Baldwin
