September 16 2019 - 8:37AM
Dow Jones News
Responsible finance is the leading theme in BMO Global Asset
Management's global emerging-market equity strategy, representing
41% of the portfolio's holdings, the money manager says. BMO says
investments have driven financial inclusion in developing
economies, including holdings in Malaysia's Bank Rakyat, India's
HDFC Bank and Nigeria's Guaranty Trust Bank. Another 26% of the
companies are linked to food and nutrition while 13% support health
and well-being, such as plant-based beverage maker Vitasoy and
China's AK Medical, BMO says. "For over 35 years we have seen
continued demand from clients who want the values that they hold
dear expressed through their investments," says Kristi Mitchem,
chief executive of BMO Global Asset Management.
