Definition of SEC
SEC (or the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) is a U.S. agency created by Congress to regulate the securities market and America's stock and options exchange, as well as enforcing securities laws and proposing new securities rules to protect investors from fraudulent and deceptive practices within the securities market.
