Growth in U.S. Wholesale Inventories Accelerated in August

U.S. wholesale inventories increased in August at a stronger
pace than in the previous month. Inventories of U.S. merchant
wholesalers rose 1.3% in August on month, up from a 0.6% increase
in July, the Commerce Department said Friday.
Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal expected a 1.2%
Inventories were up 25.0% from the same month a year
The ratio of inventories to sales stood at 1.31, up from the
1.29 the previous month and above the 1.21 registered in August
2021, the Commerce Department's data showed.
