Switzerland plans to issue bonds with a face value of six billion Swiss francs ($6.53 billion) at auctions in 2022, down from CHF8 billion in 2021, the Federal Finance Administration said Wednesday.

The FFA will conduct bond auctions monthly, except for August, while auction dates in October and December are optional, it said. Optional auction dates allow the FFA to decide on short notice whether to go ahead with that auction.

A bond valued at CHF3.5 billion will mature in May 2022, the FFA said.
