Comcast Corp. on Tuesday said it named Jason Armstrong executive vice president and treasurer after the coronavirus pandemic upended plans to have him serve as chief financial officer of its U.K. pay-TV unit Sky.

Mr. Armstrong had been senior vice president of investor relations and finance at Comcast for six years before being named chief financial officer of Sky earlier this year.

However, Comcast said the onset of the pandemic disrupted Mr. Armstrong's plans to move his family to the U.K., and that he will instead return to its corporate headquarters in Philadelphia effective July 1 to succeed Bill Dordelman, who is retirng as treasurer after almost 30 years with the cable giant.

Comcast said Simon Robson, who has spent 23 years at Sky, most recently as deputy chief financial officer, will succeed Mr. Armstrong as financial chief.
