France's antitrust regulator won't require a split of
pay-television company Canal Plus, owned by media giant Vivendi SA
(VIV.FR), to approve the acquisition of smaller rival TPS, said the
online news site of weekly La Tribune Friday.
According to the report, Bruno Lassserre, head of France's
antitrust regulator, declared that the regulator won't impose a
splitting of the company or other structural separation
measures.
A series of measures will be required to finally approve the TPS
acquisition, reports La Tribune without providing details.
The comments were made in a private meeting between Bruno
Lassserre, and Canal Plus authorities on June 11th, said the
report.
The regulator's final decision on TPS' acquisition will be given
on July 24th.
